Committees

Your participation helps us to fulfill our mission to empower members and to advance women’s economic participation and leadership in Palm Beach County.

The Women’s Chamber is always looking for “a few good women.” Please let us know of your interest in serving in Chamber leadership positions. In order to get the most out of your membership, consider getting involved with the Chamber’s activities. There are a variety of ways to get involved and participation on a Committee is a rewarding way to donate your time and expertise. Please review the Committees below and let us know if you would be interested in serving as a committee member.

Advocacy / Governmental Affairs Committee

Provides education and encourages members to collaborate with community organizations and participate in local, state, and federal governmental processes advocating on issues that may impact women as business owners and professionals. Attends relevant government and other community meetings as a representative of the Chamber.

Ambassador/Membership Committee

Meets and greets members and guests at Chamber functions, represents the Chamber at community and business events, makes calls to or visits to welcome new members, obtains updates from the WCC office on the status of membership recruitment and retention, follows up on requests for membership information, provides new member leads, recruits new members, and organizes new member orientation meetings.

Marketing & Communications Committee

Works with the WCC office to communicate Chamber business to the community via the media, website, and social media. Consults on all Chamber communication materials and ensures consistent branding and messaging.

Finance Committee

Reviews Financial Policies and Procedures and works with committees to establish program budgets.

Networking Committee

Plans monthly networking mixers, and secures sponsors and drawing prizes. Coordinates with WCC office regarding on-site registration and other meeting requirements.

Partnership / Sponsorship (Fund Development)

Oversees the development of income-producing activities and assures that income will be sufficient to maintain the operations of the Chamber. Seeks corporate partners for ongoing relationships and support. Works with the Finance, Networking, Programs, and Special Events committees to develop and promote event sponsorships.

Programs

Plans monthly programs and secures speakers, sponsors, and drawing prizes. Coordinates with the WCC office regarding on-site registration and other meeting requirements.

Special Events Committee:  Women’s History Month/Giraffe Awards

Works with experienced committee members to plan and execute the annual Giraffe Award event, celebrating March as Women’s History Month, and honoring an outstanding woman in the community who has “stuck her neck out to help other women.”

Women’s Chamber Foundation

The Women’s Chamber Foundation is the educational and professional development arm of the Chamber. Its primary functions include scholarship fundraising, organizing professional development seminars, and staffing the WCF table at WCC events.
