17th Annual “Big Red Apple” Scholarship Luncheon Went Virtual!

Twenty-six Scholarships Presented By The Women’s Chamber Foundation

West Palm Beach, FL, July 10, 2020 – The Women’s Chamber Foundation is pleased to announce that this year the Organization awarded 26 scholarships to local women.  “Although we had to cancel our Annual Luncheon and Silent Auction this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we still wanted to honor our recipients and thank our Scholarship Donors by doing a Virtual Presentation,” said Cindy Sheppard, Chair of the Foundation.  “These extraordinary women range from high school graduates to those going back to continue their education.”  The virtual presentation, with over 50 attending, took place on June 30, 2020.

The following women received a $1,200 Scholarship:  Isabella Alliston (Palm Beach State College), Mariana Altauil Pineda (Palm Beach State College), Lauren Arrington (Columbia University), Rachel Bailey (University of Florida), Sarah Baldeo (Palm Beach Atlantic University), Ashley Lauren Bondi (Palm Beach State College), Melody Burrage (Florida State University), Gema Cervantes (Florida Atlantic University), Talia Fradkin (FAU Medical School), Pamela Gores (University of Central Florida), Rachael Hobbs (Palm Beach State College), Christian Holmes (Palm Beach State College), Michely Julno (Florida State University), Ziyu Lan (University of Florida), Maria Landron (Palm Beach Atlantic University), Chelsea Mistretta (University of Florida), Crystal Salgado (Palm Beach State College), Saushane Stewart (Palm Beach State College), Angela Valenti (Palm Beach State College) and Farjana Yasmin (University of Florida).  The following women received a $600 Scholarship:  Ashley Lynn Backus (University of Florida), Elise Gonzalez (Auburn University Medical School), Samantha Keating (University of Central Florida), Charlene Mbaeri (Pomona College) and Sulvamette Sylvain (Florida A&M University).  In addition, Mumtahinah Rashid will receive a laptop computer generously donated by Toshiba Business Solutions.

Scholarships were generously donated by:  Bob Bloom Scholarship Fund, Rebecca Doane Hope For The Future Scholarship, Florida Crystals, Florida Sugar Cane League, Gehring Group, Merrill G and Emita E Hastings Foundation, Jupiter Children’s Foundation, THE ROYAL Poinciana Plaza, Seacoast Bank, and Toshiba Business Solutions.
